Route 66 - Act 6: The Coven

Opening

The session picks up with Kate, Moki, and Katrina in the middle of the city. Kate and Moki have reluctantly decided to follow her. She leads them to an abandoned hotel and walks up to one of the doors, pulling out a keycard and swiping it under the door.

Despite the hotel being abandoned and in complete disrepair, the door unlocks, and she opens it, leading to what looks like a typical biker bar called "The Coven". As they enter the group is stopped at the door by the bouncer. Katrina states that Moki and Kate are with her, and they're let in, mentioning that she was calling in the favour she was owed and to keep it on "the old man's tab"

The Bar

Katrina separates from the group to head to the VIP space to have a private conversation with someone leaving Kate and Moki to explore the bar. The two stick together and head to the bar. Kate orders a soda, and the bartender hands Moki a coke with a Timbit on the glass as if it were a lemon. Sticking out of the timbit was a little Canadian flag with the letter "L" on the back. Moki finds it odd and looks around to see if there's anyone she recognizes, but notices no-one. Kate asks who it's from and Moki responds she doesn't know.

The Private Area

Katrina returns and catches up with Kate and Moki. She notices the drink and asks who it's from. Moki responds she doesn't know. Katrina asks her why she didn't ask the bartender. Moki responds she doesn't visit bars and didn't know the etiquette. Katrina takes Kate and Moki up the elevator to the private rooms as well. Once they get to the top, they look around, finding a room for a few people they recognize -- Kate's Mom, Lorelai, and Medina, who the group came up to meet as she has some information on where they're at currently, and how to leave.

Kate contacts her mom to ask about her room in the coven. Kate advises it's best not to try and break in as knowing her mother, the door is most definitely trapped. Kate's mom mentions she doesn't remember much of what's in the room, and that she'd have to look around for her access card if she was going to meet the pair there, but that she would try.

Moki opts to check out Lorelai's room. Surprisingly, the door is unlocked and opens without any tricks. She steps into the dark room, feeling around for a light switch but finds none. The wooden floor creaks beneath her feet. She stumbles more in the dark until she sees a light coming from around a corner. Making her way to it, she sees the fridge cracked open. She turns around to step away and feels someone tapping her horns. "Hmm, those are new." the voice calls out, and the lights turn on to reveal Claire in a bathrobe in an empty wooden living area.

They chat for a little and catch up. Moki asks what this place is. Clare responds it's their vacation spot away from their usual work area. Moki also asks if Lorelai is around. Clare responds that she's probably somewhere downstairs.

Moki leaves and the group prepares to meet Medina.
