The Sears Clerics and JC Paladins

Opening

The session opens with Moki finishing up a shift at Torrid. Kate comes in -- a regular for some of the branded merch they sell.

Moki tells Kate that some of the shirts she wants are in stock but the others are still not in stock. The pair head out together to the food court and order pizza from Sbarro's Pizza.

Once they arrive, they order their pizza from a half-orc man named Skab, who gives it to them on the house. Once it's ready, he takes his break and sits with them.

As they eat they feel something... off. Almost as if the air had shifted. The trio head out to investigate and come across a Sears. They go in to see what they can find.

The place seems strangely empty there's not a single employee in sight. Everything seems to be on sale, but nothing otherwise seems off about the location.

They leave and keep exploring the mall, stumbling into a JC Penny, which seems to be in a similar state, though there was one employee who immediately attacked the party. A pair of mannequins the party was looking at joined in.

The group makes quick work of the man and the mannequins. Kate was not taking the death of the man well, as she had never seen death before. The group makes a run for the exit to make their way out.

The trio take some less populated paths back to the Sears as there's a lot of fighting between Clerics with Sears uniforms, and Paladins from JC Penny. On the way, the group stops by a knife shop to arm up. Moki tries to open the door, but Skab takes her place. Almost immediately he's punched in the face by a suit of animated armour.

The group works together and faces the armour, shattering it.

The party heads in and Kate finds a sword which she uses her own hexblade pact sword to absorb.

The party leaves and continues on back to the Sears in search of any clues, but find nothing.

As they continue traversing the mall, they find another region of fighting, this time, the group sees a glowing item, The Sacred Texts...the summer catalogues.

They head down into the thick of the fighting where a high cleric and high paladin were fighting, the two the closest to the texts. Upon spotting the party, they turn their attention to face them. Combat ensues and the party narrowly makes it out and claim the sacred texts for their own.

They learn that the two stores were fighting to stay in the mall. Whoever lost would lose their store.

The gang makes opts to have both stores in the catalogue to ensure they both stay, and Moki tosses in a small addition for the mall's Torrid.

The session finishes on a warm summer day as the summer sales roll in.
