The Fourth of July

Opening

The session opens a few days after the end of the last session. Fulfilling his promise, Ray has taken Kate and Moki fishing. The trio sit on his boat, fishing together. Moki catches an average sized fish, Ray catches several fish, and Kate doesn't catch any -- having intimidated them. Kate got frustrated and Ray consoles her.

Back to the Mall

The three return to the mall and park by Skab's truck. Kate and Moki head into the mall and Moki makes a quick detour to the gun shop to pick up a crossbow for herself, just so she doesn't always have to be up-close and personal -- and risk getting mauled like in the last anomaly.

They eventually return to the break room and find a note on the fridge for Moki, telling her to look inside for a surprise. She opens the fridge to find homemade poutine from Skab as a small celebration for Canada day, knowing she's Canadian. The poutine is delicious, and she shares some with Kate.

The Anomaly

The group feels the familiar air of an anomaly and head out to face it. As they exit the break room, they're faced with a full Fourth of July parade, featuring several large, elaborate floats.

Skab meets up with Kate and Moki, Ray joins them as well. They begin watching the parade, looking for anything off and spot a float with firework cultists on it. Combat immediately ensues and the group clears the float.

They progress from float to float, taking down other cultists and stop for a small respite at the Atheist float which was having a barbeque. The group takes a bit to eat and continues onto the second last float.

On the last float, the group was put up against Mr. America. Behind him is a triangle box for a tri-fold quilt. It radiated a glowing light. Moki tried to talk him down out of his very purely American dream, but he simply returns by stating that Canada day was a few days ago. He tries to shoot Moki point-blank, but Ray takes the shot for her.

Skab and Kate work together to steal the box from him. Once they do, the anomaly ends. Skab takes a peek inside and hands the box to Moki, telling her not to open it yet, and that she'll know when the right time to open it is.

As they leave, Ray invites the party to support him at a competition at the Bass Pro Pyramid. Kate and Moki secure time off to join Ray, but Skab is unable to get time off and must stay at the mall.
