The Christmas Wish

Opening:

The session opens with Kate, Moki, and Skab in the break room exchanging gifts.

Moki gave skab a model portal gun, Kate an idol outfit, and Ray a black and white basket-ball with gold detailing

Skab gave Moki a golden conductor's baton and Kate some anime figures

The Call:

Diesel was in the mall parking lot and on seeing the group, informed them of their positions of The Naughty List. Since he lost a bet, he had to do some tasks for Santa, which he told Santa that he knew some people who could handle it.

Diesel did say he'd make it worth the group's while as doing this task would not only get them off The Naughty List, but also get them a free wish. A small cat-like ball named Smooshy rests in the truck, but will also be joining the crew.

Kate and Moki agree, and get in the truck with Diesel, who briefs them on what they need to do as he drives them. Diesel tells the group about a legend, where whoever kills Santa Claus, becomes the next Santa Claus. He then tasks the group with killing someone known as "The Rat King", who was planning to become the next Santa and ruin Christmas for everyone.

Diesel pull into ethereal version of the Bass Pro Pyramid, before they hop out, Kate gets a bell to summon Smooshy, Moki gets a wooden idol that lets her summon a Fey companion. They hop out and get to work.

The group head over to the gift shop, exploring to see if they could find any clues to lead them to The Rat King. Almost immediately, something is off and some of the stockings from the shelves fly off and wrap themselves around Moki's neck, strangling her. She struggles to remove them, with Kate eventually managing to tear them off her.

The pair move on, Moki summoning Misty as a fey companion to aid if something were to happen again. The trio head deeper into the pyramid, and enter the Rat King's room, meeting face to face with him. He was a towering figure, much larger than both Kate and Moki.

They prepare for combat, but are quickly interrupted when Kate summons Smooshy, except when he arrives, he's much, much bigger -- comparable to the Rat King himself, and his once round exterior, looks more like a spiked ball, still cat-like in appearance, but much more aggressive.

Kate and Moki share some of their strength with him, and he charges up a spin and rolls into the Rat King, killing him instantly.

The group moves on to eventually meet Santa, who thanks them for getting rid of the threat and removes them from The Naughty List. He then asks what their wishes are.

Both Kate and Moki wish for a shard of excalibur, Smooshy however, did not wish for anything. He spoke for the first time, stating his position as a higher being and already having his needs met.

Upon receiving their shards of Excalibur, Kate and Moki saw a vision, returning to the round table and seeing the knights once more. They asked what they wished to do with the shards, judging whether their intents were noble or not. Moki responded she intended to use it to keep people safe. To take on some of the power to use against those who intend to use the existing shards for evil.

Kate's shard was that of the knight Gawain, and Moki's was that of the knight Percivale.

The two were returned to the mall, and Misty was returned to her castle in the Feywilds.
