Block Busted

Opening

The party opens after the flashbacks of the blockbuster. The group finds themselves before the revenant of the blockbuster On the front-left and right of the blockbuster, there is a TV that is blank.

Ken, Yokai-Moki, and Kate stand ready to attack.

Yokai Moki prepares. She charges her divinity through Kate, who she marks as her ward. She then readies her sword and swings at the revenant, smiting him. She follows up with a critical hit tearing through his armour and revealing old mummified skin from below the reels.

Kate runs into melee range and casts blink on herself, ending up in the ethereal plane.

Ken hesitates. Yokai Moki looks back at him.

The revenant strikes at Moki 3 times

While in the ethereal plane, Kate can see an outline of a human, which she can tell is the revenant. It appears like there are threads surrounding him.

Moki is cut with the razor sharp film from the revenant. She retaliates with two strikes from her greatsword

Kate blinks back to the material plane, strikes it which Yokai Moki charges her attack in a smite.

Ken fiddles with the switches and mechanisms on his belt. His flamesong triggers and he's suited up. His armour looks different it plates upward around him, and his shortsword ejects from his arm. He moves in to strike, but misses.

The revenant disengages, it moves back 45 ft away, and then wraps a film strand around the shelves before hurling it at Moki. It hits her hard and crashes down on her. She rises, grimmacing and noticeably bloody.

She reaches her hand out, then to her chest as it glows green while she casts Lay on Hands on herself.

Kate dismisses blink, summons Sebasios, and begins to close the gap. Ken follows suit, charging a fire bolt, but he misses. He mentions that he's fighting his Uncle, so he's going through it.

Kate and Moki are understanding, but the Revenant then uses the razor film to slice into Ken, then grapple into him.

Yokai Moki charges up, critting him once again and smiting with everything she's got, and then following up with a second hit. Kate swings at him, but misses, but Sebasios tags in, cutting through his film reels and poisons him.

As this happens, the revenant bellows a massive roar before slamming the ground. The debris from the blockbuster begins to fall and the TVs now show a classic film countdown, and a tornado of the film. It expands around him. Ken and Moki hold their actions as they try to figure out how to get out of this.

Moki finds herself outside a house with an extreme number of christmas decorations. Moki realizes she's in the classic Christmas movie "Gnome Alone." Sebasios is with her, and the both of them are dressed in burglar's outfits.

Kate finds herself in an extravagant casino. There are rich people everywhere and she's in a very expensive suit. She's playing poker and across from her is a man in a gray suit with a red eye. He speaks to her "I believe that is the 5th hand you've won this evening." She realizes she's in a spy thriller, Bames Jond, 0012. Kate leverages her deception to blend in, but only one person can tell. Azami, who is dressed in a high-cut cocktail dress with a white bow and very suspicious sunglasses. Azami mentions it's obvious why she'd be here

Flashing back to Yokai Moki and Sebasios, the two look for ways to head into the house. Yokai Moki sneaks a ladder from their van at the side of the house. She raises it up and notices the trap at the window, which would have caused it to fall down with razors on her fingers. She carefully navigates the trap and the legos on the floor to step into the house.

She steps into the house and decides to make like the movie, and flood one of the bathrooms. She makes her way to the stairwell and then slips down the greased stairs, and is lit by a candle just above her.

Flash back to Kate and Azami, where a dry martini sits beside her. She takes a sip without making a face and even manages to take the posion it's laced with. Azami feels the scene is moving too slow for her and she quickly tuns it into an action scene as she picks up a card and throws it, causing it to slice another's neck. The scene evolves into a full bar fight and the scene falls apart, popping them out of the film.

Moki opts to use her flames to light the house on fire by touching the grease. Smoke rises and the fire alarms go off. Sebasios chokes the kid out with his tail causing the scene to fall apart and them to be popped out of the film.

They re-enter the blockbuster where the tornado has passed.

Ken is still clashing with the revenant. Yokai Moki charges in but doesn't make it all the way. Kate follows and tries to hit, but misses. The Revenant tries to hit Kate but also misses. Yokai Moki swings and hits. Ken makes an attack on the revenant, landing it. The revenant turns to Yokai Moki and swings at her, but Kate interrupts, with an attack of her own, critically hitting the revenant. Yokai Moki takes the opportunity to charge everything she's got into Kate's attack and empowers it with a smite. She grins, but realizes the revenant is indifferent to her taunt.

As Kate makes contact, the revenant begins to fade away as Ken moves in to hug him. Yokai Moki puts a hand on his shoulder. As he fully fades away, only the film reel belt he used to create it all remains. Ken takes it and he says he knows what he plans to do with it.

The scene fades and the group find themselves back at the parking lot of the mall. As they head into the Toys R Us, they're met with a lot of familiar faces, Lorelai, Azami, Jay Eezy, Angarth, the Retail Reaper, and his retinue.

Kate asks if she missed a memo. Katrina responds that it's more than that.

It would turn out, the members of the round are looking to end the spat at the mall. The way they plan to do this is by filling the remaining seat at the round table. This will take place in three weeks from now.

All the members turn to leave, each one also seems guarded to ensure no funny business.

Yokai Moki and Kate also notice Skab. Kate realizes that there's a golden outline of a child sitting on Skab's shoulder and at least a part of the spirit of the mall is sitting with him now. She clocks this as a variant of company spirit
