Seigebreaker Special
Opening
The session opens as Kate and Moki are preparing to fight to prove themselves as adventurers. They stand on a Monday night combat table. They find themselves on a field with walls around them. Magical darkness covers the tops of the walls
Kate recognizes this as the seigebreaker special. Knowing that they need to make it through the wall, into a barbarinan encampment, then take out the chieftan at the top of the wall to win.
They are against 3 other teams.
Kate informs Moki of this. As she does, arrows are loosed from the wall, and Moki takes a graze of one.
The two then decide how to proceed. Debating about dimension dooring past the wall or breaking it down. They opt to break it as they don't know the layout of the other side.
They eldritch blast and swing away at the wall together to break through. After they break a chunk out, the magical darkness at the top of the wall dissipates and the archers disappear.
They cross through and hear the distant sound of a war drum. They run towards the fortress and hear the sounds of laughter, before a lighting bolt flies up from the town in front of them, and then crash down onto the pair, who take a grazing hit. They split up to avoid any chain lightning from catching them both and dash forward.
Moki followed by a stampede of horses which she narrowly avoids, then the pair are fired upon by catapaults, which miss Moki, but hit Kate.
They dash into the fortress and see a large, older man who is shaking the earth with each tap of his lance. He holds a greatshield.
The scene then jumps back to the domain where Sebasios is with Clare, Cer, Audrey, and Lorelai, who pass around a piece of paper and then hand it to Sebasios. He signs and his suit is fixed, and he transformed into a level 45 rogue.
Flashing back to Kate and Moki. The man flashes a toothy smile at the pair and opens his arms in a welcoming manner. He seems to be very happy to see the pair. Kate lowers her blade and the two approach. The shards that Kate and Moki hold resonate, as if they're seeing a familiar face. The hammering of the lance is in tune with them.
The pair are then given a memory:
Moki sees the man in front of her is much younger. He has brown hair and is attending to a woman in a brown leather jacket, black turtleneck. Both are on the run from knights.
Moki finds herself as one of the knights giving chase. Any time any of the knights try to attack on them, the man perfectly parries as he's the one who taught them. The two make it away into Britannia.
Kate finds herself in Germany, an army of soldiers in pure white armour -- the new monarchy -- are marching through the streets as a group of resistance fighters are fighting back. The scene is pure chaos. Two dragons overhead join the fight, before one is smited down. Walking in the chaos, completely calmly, is a man in full black plate armour with horns pointing down on his helmet, and a sword with seven glowing gems inside it. She also sees the same man before them both join to challenge. She realizes that this is a fight they cannot win, but one they're lucky to buy time in.
As Kate and Moki contemplate, he tries to make an attack, but intentionally misses, taunting that they're lucky he gave them time to think.
Kate places a spell on him and Moki follows with darkness. He retorts by stomping his foot and casting shatter on all three of them. Kate and Moki disengage and run towards the stairwell to navigate up to the top is. Kate takes a moment to eldritch blast him.
He misty steps to a space between the pair and tries to attack Kate, missing. Kate tries to attack, but misses. He parries, but pulls his lance back, as if he's telling her she left herself open. Moki finds it interesting he's still teaching.
He takes another swing at Kate, feigning with this lance, but then instead swinging his shield at her, concussing her.
Moki takes a moment to heal Kate for some of the damage she took. He returns forward, getting in between the pair and the stairs, using a thunder step to hurt attack.
Deciding it was not worth it, Kate grabs Moki's hand and dimension doors the both to the top, where they meet Angarth who prepares to fight.
